holiday Sign-Up AVAILABLE OCTOBER 1, 2023
Annually we have several major Holiday related events which provide nearly 3,000 opportunities for volunteering and serving Hamilton County families during the Holidays! Click on any "Sign-Up" link below.
Note: We are following standard CDC protocol (Hand washing. Social Distancing. and Face Masks are recommended) for volunteers and staff - left to your discretion. Anyone exposed to COVID-19, or with symptoms of COVID-19, or who is considered a high-risk, are being asked NOT to volunteer. If at any time you do not feel safe or comfortable volunteering - due to the pandemic - your first priority is to take care of yourself!

WHY
sign up
We ask everyone who volunteers with GSN to sign-up INDIVIDUALLY online:
1) We appreciate every single person...
2) We need to communicate with those who are serving alongside us. This is especially true in case of a schedule change, an emergency, etc. That's why, besides your name, we need a contact email and phone number, individually.

Your volunteers were simply amazing... they were so kind and very helpful!
iVOLUNTEER and GROUPS
Roll over the image and click on the link for iVolunteer "Group Request Form."
Groups must use this request form. You will receive a confirmation of your request and a follow-up concerning your request options and availability.
iVolunteer
Individuals must be 16 years or older to serve (individually or in a group), or they must be accompanied by a responsible adult(s) who will help oversee them. Typically lifting and sorting is required for iVolunteer projects, especially in the warehouse. Upon arrival to volunteer, a confidentiality and liability statement will be completed for each volunteer that works alongside GSN and placed in their iVolunteer file. However, a confidentiality document is not required at “offsite events” and is assumed based upon a confirmed online sign-up.
Volunteering/serving is at the discretion of the GSN staff based on the volunteer’s capabilities and the work demand for any given volunteering event/date. There may be dates/times that our office is closed due to an event or staffing needs/changes. If that happens, we will make every effort to contact any iVolunteer as quickly as possible – based on provided contact information.
Nonprofits, like GSN, rely heavily on volunteers. Volunteers are the heart of what we do in order to make our mission reality! Our volunteers ensure food, clothing, and toys are consistently processed for distribution, keep our mobile food sites operating, enter data for Holiday assistance and help ensure families enjoy a meaningful holiday. They are invaluable in sharing the vision and mission of GSN at community events. Join the thousands of volunteers, totaling countless hours who consistently give of their time to make a difference in the lives of countless Hamilton County families!
Nonprofits will always require a resilient volunteer force to maintain current programming and will need to recruit additional volunteers to support new or expanded programs and to replace those volunteers who inevitably stop coming. We'd love for you to be a part of our team!
iVolunteer with GSN
Volunteering is generally considered an unselfish act and is intended to promote goodness or improve human quality of life. In return, this activity can produce a feeling of self-worth and respect. There is no financial gain involved for the individual(s). Volunteering is also celebrated for skill development, socialization, and fun. Volunteering may have positive benefits for the volunteer as well as for the person or community served. It is helping, assisting, or serving another person or persons without expectation of compensation.
From volunteering in our warehouse to special events and holidays - a person’s time and contribution are significant gifts that make a likely and lasting impact on the lives of individuals and families in Hamilton County. We welcome your time, talent, skills and passion for people as you volunteer with GSN.
